Blind Safety

At Fabric Mills we fit as standard the following safety devices on all blinds for children's rooms.

Chain Safety Retaining Device for Blinds

Fitted to the wall to ensure the chain / cord is
retained tight against the wall, keeping it out
of reach of children.

Spring Loaded Cord Tensioner

Attached to the window recess.
The cord is fed through a pulley
which tensions the cord as if it
were weighted.

Locking Device for Roman Blinds

A locking off device for finishing off the strings,
designed to pop off in the event of a child
climbing up behind a blind and potentially
getting trapped in the cords.

We can also advise you on the most appropriate choice of blind and the ways to make it safer. Please ask one of our staff
for more information on our safety features.

Remember -

Blind cords and chains can pose a risk for babies, children and vulnerable people who could injure or even strangle themselves on the hanging looped cords. Make it safe by:

- Making sure all cords are out of reach
- Do not place your child's cot/bed, highchair or playpen near a window blind
- Do not put sofa's, chairs, tables or bookcases near to a window blind, as children love to climb.

Please note that these safety devices may reduce the risk of strangulation but cannot be considered foolproof. Persons in charge of children are ultimately responsible for following the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer.
